You Matter came from the video above created by Destiny's favorite motivational speaker Eric Thomas. You Matter then became an Instagram page to uplift teens by posting inspirational quotes, and also to prevent bullying and suicide. The You Matter official group was first established in October 2014, we first started off participating in the We Scare Hunger campaign collecting cans for a local food bank to end hunger, in November we sold hand made rafiki bracelets made in Africa to raise money for food, health, income,water, and education for families in Africa. You Matter participated in the first Illinois Youth Summit to learn more about what we can do to change the world. You Matter particpates in various campaigns to help around the world near and far. You Matter encourages others to believe that you can really change the world. We encourage others to think We and not Me.
